Diversity and inclusion are part of the very fabric of SBS: they are at the core of our Charter, at the centre of our purpose and strategy, and at the heart of how we tell stories, connect with audiences, and recruit and engage our people.
SBS is an incredibly diverse organisation, committed to reflecting and representing the diversity of the communities we serve across our teams, just as we are committed to doing so through our content.
SBS is committed to being a leader in inclusion. We embrace difference and recognise that when we all belong and can participate fully, we thrive. We acknowledge that this work is never done and continue to pursue ways to enhance our diversity and inclusion practices.
SBS plays a vital and ongoing role in contributing to the diversity of the Australian media sector and has in place a number of initiatives that prioritise providing tangible pathways and career development opportunities for diverse professionals and creatives from often underrepresented backgrounds in mainstream media.
As Australia’s multicultural and Indigenous broadcaster, home to National Indigenous Television (NITV) and 68 language services, SBS has deep and unrivalled connections with Australia’s diverse communities. We support and extend our content with engagement activities across Australia, working with communities to tell their stories.
